Gosh it is very cramped up in the Roof Space! Here we can se one of the new Concrete Lintels waiting to be placed.

Even More Scaffold

The pile of Scaffold outside the Church seems to grow every night.

Staircase to Heaven

A friend mentioned The Scaffold's Greatest Hits, the musical analogy continues. Even more Scaffold has arrived. and when I visited on Thursday the men were very busy constructing a ----- Staircase to Heaven! No kidding, the front scaffolding towers are not tied in to the walls so the strengthening and buttressing supports have meant that the Contractors are able to build a Staircase and not just use ladders. Very secure it looks too, So eventually the Fabric Team will don their PPE and scale the heights. The Structural Engineer has also inspected and has declared that he is very happy with the Works Progress. Today the Concrete arrives which will be poured into the new big hole, which will form the foundation for Truss 3 N. Gosh it's all go this week.

November Already!

Firstly; My apologies to those, who do look to the Blog for regular updates on the Conservation and Repair Work. I did intend to write last week, but the Proper job needed my attention and the Church job also took up such a time that what was left of my week went into sleeping. So a quick run down of where we are ------ The High Roof has been checked again and our favourite Steeplejacks are scheduled to be out next week. Doing what I hear you ask------Clearing Gutters!!! AGAIN! There are so many trees around about, that I think we may have to increase the frequency of the gutter-cleaning visits. The trees in the West End are very nice, but they weren't around over a 100 years ago when the parapet gutters were built. Those of you who get to see inside the building may have wondered about the bare stone walls in parts of the Main hall.
