Halfway!

On Sunday KH welcomed Alastair Cherry back to Morning Worship. The delayed Leaving Presentation was made and we followed that with an excellent lunch. Yum! It was good that people noticed that the Mega Shores were no longer showing in the Hall. It was also very interesting, as we were able to look up through the holes into the Sanctuary and then from there all the way up into the Attic space. A very long way! (and a crick in the Neck!)

Progress indeed!

Tomorrow is the next Site Progress Meeting, and indeed Progress is apparent! The first of the Mega shores is down-------well; down to the Sanctuary floor at least; and the Steel Spreader-beams for the next erections are being bolted into place as we speak. You know I was almost fond of the that chunky ' meccano' being where it was, and it has been there for over a year. (April 2008!!!) Whatever it does mean that work is progressing , which is a GOOD thing!

Up in the Attic ----- continued.

More Rafters, Trusses and Purlins!

More up on top!

Gosh it is very cramped up in the Roof Space! Here we can se one of the new Concrete Lintels waiting to be placed.

The First "At Home"

So, the first "At Home" meeting of the Congregation has taken place and I think it worked well, the 'eats' were very good (Thanks, you know who!) The initial Power Point Presentation on the Building works appeared to be OK. Lots of questions and at least I knew the answers, Of course there was the 'deliberate' mistake, now corrected for the next meeting. Don't know how I missed it during the proof reading. Certainly once again the congregation has shown how interested it is in the future of our Community

Work in Progress

Remember that 'Crushed Wallhead' some weeks ago? Well it's now been cut out together with the rotten bits of Truss ends and new Concrete Lintels have been set into the Stone wall. The Trusses are now awaiting their new Steel shoes and then they will be lowered back onto the Wallhead. Simple really!

Now we know we really are getting there.

Following yesterday's Progress Meeting, a big Green Storage Container arrived outside today and is parked uo outside the Church. The residual Scaffolding and a great deal of other materials have all been been removed. Hopefully the Steel and its Crane should arrive tomorrow morning. We know that the pair of Mega shores being worked on have been jacked up and that the roof trusses have been raised and laid back down on their new Concrete base. So now they need their new steel shoes and then move on to the next pair. Importantly the Programme of Works is on schedule.
